Texas grocery weekly ads: H-E-B, Fiesta, Kroger and more
Published October 9, 2026
In Texas, the new Kroger weekly ad goes live at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, an hour before Wednesday even starts. That’s because Kroger switches its ad at midnight Eastern time, and most of Texas runs on Central time. It’s a small detail, but it sums up Texas grocery weekly ads: almost everything changes on Wednesday, and the shoppers who know the exact timing get the first pick.
This guide covers the Texas grocery chains on our site: when each ad starts, which chains share an owner, and how to plan a week around them.
1. Find your Texas grocery weekly ad
Texas has big statewide chains, national chains, and strong regional Hispanic and Asian grocers. Here are the ones on our site with stores in Texas.
| Store | In Texas | New ad starts |
|---|---|---|
| H-E-B | Texas (and northern Mexico) | Wednesday |
| Kroger | Texas and many other states | Wednesday |
| Randalls | Texas (Albertsons family) | Wednesday |
| Fiesta Mart | Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin | Wednesday |
| El Super | Texas and four other states | Wednesday |
| El Rancho | Texas | Wednesday |
| La Michoacana Meat Market | Texas | Every other Wednesday (2 weeks) |
| Aldi | Texas and other states | Wednesday |
| Sam’s Club | Texas and 43 other states | Thursday |
Start days from the valid dates on each chain’s flyer, as collected on USA Weekly Ads. Kroger timing from its weekly ad FAQ.
Eight of these nine start on Wednesday (Sam’s Club is the exception, on Thursday), so Wednesday is the day to plan around. Open two or three ads that morning, compare the front pages, and decide where to shop that week.
2. Get the timing right
Most stores publish the new ad on the start day. A few details make a difference for Texas shoppers.
- Randalls belongs to the Albertsons family. Check the Randalls ad on Wednesday, when the new one starts.
- La Michoacana runs a two-week ad called “especiales quincenales.” The current one runs Sep 30 to Oct 13, 2026. Prices vary by zone, so make sure the ad matches your store.
- Fiesta Mart ads say “In Selected Stores Only,” so not every deal is at every store.
3. Know which chains share an owner
Some Texas chains that look like rivals belong to the same company. That’s useful: it explains why their ads can look alike, and why they start on the same day.
| Owner | Banners on our site | Ad starts |
|---|---|---|
| Chedraui USA | Fiesta Mart, El Super | Wednesday |
| Albertsons Companies | Randalls | Wednesday |
| Kroger | Kroger | Wednesday |
| H-E-B (privately held) | H-E-B | Wednesday |
Ownership from each company’s own site and published reports.
H-E-B is privately held and based in San Antonio. Florence Butt opened the first store in Kerrville in 1905. Its other store formats include Central Market, Joe V’s Smart Shop, and Mi Tienda.
Randalls is part of the same family as Safeway, Vons, and Jewel-Osco. If you moved to Texas from the West Coast, your Safeway for U habits work the same way with a Randalls for U account. See our guide to the Albertsons family weekly ads.
4. Shop the Hispanic and Asian grocers
Texas has some of the best regional grocers in the country, and their ads are worth a look even if they’re not your main store.
- Hispanic grocers often feature meat by the pound on the front page. El Super’s Oct 7 to 13 ad put boneless chicken breast and bone-in pork leg at $2.27 a pound on its front page, and La Michoacana’s ad that runs through Oct 13, 2026, also had boneless chicken breast at $1.99 a pound.
- Look for the sale inside the sale. Many of these ads print one-day or weekend deals with their own dates. See how to read Hispanic supermarket weekly ads.
- Asian supermarkets in Texas: H Mart, Zion Market, and Mitsuwa all have Texas stores. Their ads are set by region, so pick Texas when you open one. See Asian supermarket weekly ads.
5. Build a two-store week
With so many Wednesday ads, the simplest plan is one main store plus one second store with a different rhythm.
- Pick your main Wednesday store: H-E-B, Kroger, Randalls, or Fiesta Mart.
- Open its new ad on Wednesday morning, or Tuesday night for Kroger.
- Add a second store with a different rhythm: Sam’s Club on Thursday for bulk items, or La Michoacana’s two-week ad for meat.
- Plan meals around one or two front-page deals from either store.
- Do one main trip early in the week, while front-page items are in stock.
If you shop at a Wednesday store and a Thursday club, you get two fresh sets of deals in two days. If one of your stores runs a two-week ad, you can split your meat buying across both weeks and keep less in the freezer.
Bonus: the Texas Wednesday checklist
| Time | What to do |
|---|---|
| Tuesday, 11 p.m. | Kroger’s new ad is live (Central time) |
| Wednesday morning | Open H-E-B, Randalls, Fiesta Mart, El Super, and El Rancho |
| Wednesday | Pick your main store for the week and clip digital coupons |
| Thursday | Sam’s Club’s new ad starts |
Based on each store’s usual start day. Holiday weeks can differ.
Where to start
Pick your main Texas store from the first table and open its current ad. Then pick a second store with a different rhythm, and compare the two front pages next Wednesday.
